About Me
"Voters in the 66th House of Delegates District deserve a choice between Right Wing extremism and common sense."
My name is Mark Lux and I am running for Delegate of the 66th District of the Virginia House of Delegates
I grew up on Long Island in an area that was then a lot like where I live now. I graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia where I helped to establish the ROTC unit which grew to 200 cadets, at a time when joining the military was not popular.
After graduating as a 2nd Lieutenant, I attended Graduate School at Columbia University and graduated with a Master’s in International Affairs. I then served with the Army's 82 Airborne Division, where I was a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer. I then was selected to be the Company Commander for a Military Police Reserve unit on Long Island.
After the Army I worked in several managerial positions, which gave me the skills to be an effective legislator, but I wanted to serve in new ways so I attended Ohio University, where I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education.

I also had the opportunity to live in Israel for 12 years, where I served 7 years and attained the rank of Sergeant with the Israel Defense Forces Reserves.
When I had opportunities to take teaching positions around the country, I was drawn to Virginia, and fell in love with Caroline County and the surrounding area because of its history, natural beauty and wonderful people.
Currently, I am a Special Education Teacher in Prince William County for children with Autism.
